Angélique Kidjo Makes History as the First African Artist to Join the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Angélique Kidjo is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The first African artist in history to be honoured with the recognition.

Grammy-winning Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo is set to make history as the first African artist to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She was named among the 2026 honorees announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, joining a global list of entertainers.

Others on the list include Miley Cyrus, Timothée Chalamet, Shaquille O’Neal, Lea Salonga, Marion Cotillard, Deepika Padukone, Emily Blunt, and Rachel McAdams.

Dates for the ceremonies have not yet been confirmed, but inductees are expected to schedule their events within the next two years.
