I Have No Regrets Leaving Chelsea For Bayern – Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea loanee, Nicolas Jackson, has opened up for the first time since sealing a season-long loan move to Bayern Munich, insisting he has no regrets leaving Stamford Bridge.

Coolbase News reports that the Senegal international joined the Bundesliga champions on transfer deadline day after falling down the pecking order under Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

Jackson’s switch to Germany was nearly aborted after Liam Delap’s injury forced Chelsea to reconsider their striking options.

However, Bayern pressed ahead and struck a new agreement with the Blues to finalise the 23-year-old’s signing before the window closed.

Speaking to TuttoSport about his decision, Jackson said the move came with mixed feelings, but he was excited for a new challenge.

“[There were] very strong emotions, but not for the reasons you might think,” he said.

“I was simply very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world, to discover another league and other great players. At the same time, I was a little sad to leave Chelsea, my teammates, and the fans.”

The forward, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023, stressed that he held no bitterness over his departure.

“Football is full of cycles. I respect Maresca, I learned a lot from him, he has his own ideas and style,” Jackson said.

“I have no regrets, just gratitude for my time at Chelsea.”
