Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged Abia residents to contact security agencies or call him directly whenever they notice suspicious movements that may pose a threat to the State’s security.
News reports that Otti stated this on Wednesday during the celebration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence at the Government House in Umuahia.
The Governor said that he and the security agencies are always awake to ensure that the Abia people can sleep without disturbance.
While appreciating the residents for their faith in his administration, Otti said Abia is blessed with Service Commanders who are hardworking in discharging their duties.
He said, “If you see something, say something, call the Nigerian police, the DSS, the Army, just call the security agencies or call me. We don’t sleep. And the reason we don’t sleep is so that you can sleep.
Governor Otti also urged the residents to continue their support for the security agencies, stating that it would further boost their morale and dedication to duty.
He encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope because of the economic challenges bedevilling the country, but to keep striving for the better, adding that his State has witnessed significant development transformation over the past 28 months since he assumed office.
