Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has reportedly told Galatasaray that any move to Turkey in January will only happen if his financial terms are met, with the Atalanta star said to be asking for a total package of €12 million.
Turkish outlet Aksam Spor reports that Galatasaray are preparing to reopen talks for the Super Eagles winger if Barış Alper Yılmaz leaves during the winter transfer window.
Lookman is believed to have requested €9 million in guaranteed wages and another €3 million in performance-related bonuses.
“If Barış Alper is sold in the January transfer window, Galatasaray are set to reignite their pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. The Nigerian international is reportedly demanding a guaranteed salary of €9 million,” Aksam Spor stated.
The Turkish champions had tried to sign Lookman in the summer but were forced to step back when Atalanta placed a €60 million price tag on the 28-year-old. That fee effectively froze negotiations, though the Istanbul club are now expected to return for the Nigerian once they generate funds from outgoing transfers.
“Galatasaray have been closely monitoring Lookman’s situation at Atalanta. The Turkish champions made an approach for the 28-year-old earlier in the season but suspended negotiations after the Italian club demanded a €60 million transfer fee. With Barış Alper potentially leaving mid-season, the Galatasaray board are planning to return to the negotiating table for Lookman,” Aksam Spor added.
Lookman’s influence at Atalanta remains strong despite a modest start to the current campaign, scoring just once in eight Serie A games. His contract runs until June 2027, which means any club hoping to sign him will need to present a substantial offer.
The Nigerian international has been on Galatasaray’s radar since his standout performances in the 2023-2024 season, when he helped Atalanta lift the Europa League title.
His pace, sharp movement, and eye for goal have made him one of the most sought-after African players in Europe.
