
Kun Khalifat FC have made a bold move, disbanding their entire management and coaching staff following a rocky start to the 2025-2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Owerri-based club announced the shake-up after a 1-1 draw against Nasarawa United at Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday.
Kun Khalifat FC explained that the decision came after a thorough review of the club’s structure, performance, and long-term goals. They also took a moment to thank the outgoing management for their dedication and service to the club.
“This is to formally notify the public, stakeholders, players, and supporters that on this day 16th NOVEMBER, 2025, the Management Team and Coaching Staff of KUN KHALIFAT FC have been officially disbanded,” the club’s statement reads.
“This decision follows a thorough review of the club’s structure, performance, and long-term strategic direction. The disbandment is part of a broader restructuring process aimed at repositioning the club for better efficiency, stronger performance, and overall growth.
“The club acknowledges and appreciates the contributions, dedication, and service rendered by the outgoing management and coaching personnel throughout their tenure.
“Further updates regarding the new administrative and technical structure will be communicated in due course.”
This season, Kun Khalifat have managed three wins, four draws, and six defeats from 13 matches, leaving them 16th on the NPFL table with 13 points.
