The Chairman of the Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Shehu Yohanna, has stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would soon register as an official member of the party.
Yohanna disclosed this during an interview with Punch.
According to him, Atiku would be visiting Yola, the Adamawa State capital, this week, for his birthday and other activities in his hometown, Jada Local Government Area.
He expressed belief that the former vice president would use the visit to officially register his membership and collect his card
The ADC chairman said, “I spoke with the former Vice President on Tuesday morning after his arrival in Nigeria, and he told me he would be in Yola for his birthday celebration and the distribution of some items to people in Jada.
“I believe he will use the visit to officially register his membership and collect his card. I think the former SGF and other intending members will do the same to legalise their membership.”
On the crisis in the state chapter of the ADC, Yohanna declined comment, stating, “The case is in court, so I will not comment to avoid contempt of court.”
The former Vice President had previously failed to meet the membership registration deadlines issued by the state chairman.
The initial date was set for August 2025, which was later shifted to September 2025, but the exercise did not take place, and no reason was given.
