A mild drama ensued on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday, December 9, as the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, marked their birthdays on the same day.
It has been the Senate’s tradition for the President to honour senators marking their birthdays by calling their names for recognition and best wishes.
On Tuesday, while calling the names of the December 9 celebrators, Akpabio called his own name, then paused when he got to the name of Akpoti-Uduaghan, saying, “and another person, Distinguished Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.”
A trending video shows Senators in unison, burst out laughing as Senator Natasha’s name was mentioned by Akpabio. Recall that both of them are at loggerheads and are even in court.
