Super Eagles Wrap Up Cairo Camp, Head To Morocco For Final AFCON 2025 Preparations

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have brought their five-day pre-tournament camp in Cairo to a close and will depart Egypt for Fez, Morocco, today’s afternoon, as preparations intensify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Players and officials of the Super Eagles are scheduled to leave Cairo around midday, with the team expected to hold their first training session in Morocco later in the evening.

The move marks the final phase of build-up to the tournament, which kicks off on December 21 and runs until January 18.

The Super Eagles began camp in Cairo on Sunday with just 10 players present, but numbers increased steadily as the days passed. By Wednesday, 27 players were in camp following the arrival of Paris FC winger Moses Simon.

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, the last expected arrival, joined the squad on Wednesday, December 17, ahead of the trip to Morocco, completing the full complement of players.

Once settled in Fez, the team will regroup with all 28 invited players available, allowing the technical crew to fine-tune tactics ahead of Nigeria’s opening match on Tuesday. Their first training session in Morocco is expected to take place at 6 p.m. later today.
