
The administration of President Bola Tinubu has released the sum of ₦2.45 trillion to the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for infrastructure and security projects.
According to the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, who made this known in a statement via his 𝕏 account on Tuesday, the fund was released between March 2024 and August 2025.
He explained that the money serves as a support for the state governments and the FCT in fixing roads, bridges improve schools and health facilities, and strengthening security operations and other needs in communities across the country for the benefit of Nigerians.
The presidential media aide added that the practice is not peculiar to Nigeria, as the federal government of other countries, including the United States, make such funding available to states and local governments to provide essential services to the people.
He assured that the Tinubu government would continue to collaborate with other tiers of government to ensure a more prosperous Nigeria.
He wrote: “Between March 2024 and August 2025 the Federal Government released a total of ₦2.45 trillion to the 36 states and the FCT for infrastructure and security projects. This support is helping to fix roads and bridges improve schools and health facilities and strengthen security operations in communities across the country where Nigerians need results the most
