Lazio have turned down approaches from Premier League sides Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth for Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

According to transfer expert Nicolo Schira, the Rome-based club refused to consider offers from both Forest and Bournemouth, signalling their intention to keep the player despite limited opportunities this season.

Dele-Bashiru has struggled for regular game time at Lazio, prompting speculation that he could seek a move away during the winter transfer window. However, the Nigerian international now looks set to remain in Italy until at least the end of the current campaign.

Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor have also been linked with interest in the midfielder, although no deal has materialised.

Dele-Bashiru joined Lazio from Hatayspor in 2024 and still has two and a half years remaining on his contract with the club.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry to Newcastle United over a potential deadline day move for Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali.

The Gunners are said to be active in the transfer market following Mikel Merino’s foot injury. The Spain international is expected to undergo surgery and could miss the remainder of the season.

Tonali, who joined Newcastle from AC Milan in the summer of 2023, has established himself as a key figure under Eddie Howe. The 25-year-old has already made 67 top-flight appearances for the Magpies.

According to Sky Sports Deutschland, Arsenal are exploring whether a late move for Tonali is possible before the transfer window closes this evening, in what would be a surprise late twist in the market.
